Zoo U has been nominated for a Games for Change (G4C) Award in the category “Most Significant Impact.” The G4C Awards celebrate the year’s best digital games for change. Finalists were selected from a record 150 submissions.
The category of “Most Significant Impact” honors games targeted at a specific social issue with proven actions and/or outcomes. These games generate awareness, civic learning, community building, behavior change, and/or civic labor.
Zoo U is the first and only evidence-based game that assesses and builds social-emotional skills. Through personalized, adaptive gameplay, children navigate social situations in a virtual world while learning essential social-emotional skills for the real word, including communication, cooperation, and empathy.
Awards will be announced at the 12th Annual Games for Change Festival on April 22 in New York.
The development of Zoo U was funded by the U.S. Department of Education through the following grants: ED-IES-10-P-0114 and ED-IES-11-C-0039.
